Making a wedding time line is no new concept! I know it’s not rocket science but it really does take some thought to craft a detailed time lime for one of the most important days you’ll ever experience! And before you get too far in putting yours together (if you don’t have a planner or coordinator), I wanted to share what I like to refer to as the BIG ONES!
The BIG ONES are those events and moments where you would absolutely balk if you did not get a photograph of them! No, I’m not going to tell you where you should put them or where I think you might put them. But I will tell you MUST think about them when putting together your time line!
Drum roll please… and the BIG ONES are…
The First Look
This is the first time you see your fiance in his tux and he falls over with awe when he sees you in your wedding gown, otherwise known as THE moment! When planning your time line, think about when and where you want the first look to take place.
The Family & Wedding Party Photos
The wedding day is usually a whirlwind where traditionally everyone you care about is present, so make sure you take the time to capture that time together!
The First Dances
You got it! The first dance is a VERY special moment. Whether you’re thinking bride and groom, FOB, MOG or even a dance off they all need a place to live and you’d better decide where!
The Cake Cut
Nothing like cake in the face to symbolize importance on a wedding day, and what better than a photograph to capture in on film forever!I guarantee your parents AND the photographer will be happy if they know when it’s happening!
The Bouquet/Garter Toss
Okay, okay, I know that the bouquet and garter toss seem to be a dying trend these days (garter toss especially), but I include it in the list because if you decide to do it, you better have a plan for when it will happen!
Trust me when I say, all of the above BIG ONES have a place to reside within your special day! You just need to decide where! Your photographer, your family and your wedding party will all be much happier knowing what’s going on, which actually might just be a proven fact!
Happy timing! Cheers!
