Honeymoon Budget Savers

Pin It with STL Weddings

Let’s face it. Weddings are expensive and the last thing on your mind is probably your honeymoon. All of us want to save money, but since some things such as weddings and honeymoons only happen once in a lifetime (sometimes more), you probably don’t know where to look when it comes to saving money.

Let’s take a look at some tips that you can use in order to cut back on your honeymoon expenses. Just by applying a few of these tips, you can easily save 20%, 30%, or even more.

Sign up with a Honeymoon Registration

My cousins did a honeymoon registry for their wedding and I thought it was the coolest idea. What you’re going to do with this is create a registry like you would for your wedding or baby. The cool thing about this is that the people coming to your wedding can purchase things for your vacation instead. You plan the vacation and people can buy everything from your hotel room to the dinners.

Just create a budget ahead of time

Going on vacation be really expensive if you don’t know what you’re going to spend. You may find that if you start to budget things, you can save money in certain areas, or know exactly how much money you’re going to bring. There are some great “vacation budget worksheets” online that you can print out to use.

Take advantage of bargain websites

My personal favorite bargain website online is Travel Zoo. Every Wednesday, they will post the top 20 hot deals that you can purchase. On top of the top 20, they also have side deals and trust me, I’ve looked at many travel sites and this one blows away all of them. For example, the other day they had a deal where you could stay in Orlando for $39 a night at a 4 star resort!

Consider the off season

If you can take the time off, try and head to your vacation hot spot during the off season. Not only are you going to save on your hotel room, you can probably get some special deals on rental cars, airline tickets, and more. Experts will tell you that you can save an average of 40% when booking during the off season.

Think outside of the box

Most honeymoon goers think of going to a tropical island or even a place like Florida. These places are going to require a high price tag. Instead, you may want to be creative and go somewhere where you’re not going to pay an arm and leg. Consider places like a casino, camping, or even a cabin up north. These are all places where you can have fun and you don’t have to pay top dollar.

Saving money isn’t the hardest thing to do with any type of vacation, not just your honeymoon. Test out these 5 tips and let me know how much you save on your next honeymoon!
